Hey Nick and DeAnna,
The Texas Show was a great success. It keeps growing and getting better. You Guys worked your butts off and it paid off.
For me, the Show is a "family reunion". I have met so many great people there and I consider them family. Vendors and customers alike........The Texas Show is always a positive experience. You have made it that way.
I can't wait for #5. Oh, I was at a Hobby Shop in Fort Worth, yesterday, and was asked when we were going to have a show there. News about the Show is really getting around.
God Bless,
Gary Beadel
Nick and Deanna,
I would like to thank you for all the effort you put into making such a
wonderful show.
Ginnie and I enjoyed it very much. I found things on my want list, sold
extra pieces and met some terrific dealers and collectors.
Will Jones
Hey Nick,
I thought I'd send you some of the pix Elyse took at the San Antonio Show; I also wanted the contact info on the fellow who led the tour of the Alamo. I would like to read his book. Thanks for doing the show, it has become a high point of our year.
By the way, I had told you about the trouble we had getting out there, some eight hours in Atlanta airport. Well, the trip reminds me of the fellow who thought his life was over because he had so many troubles. A friend felt sorry for him and told him, "Cheer up, things could be worse."
The man thought about it, and said, "You're right!"
He cheered up.
Sure enough, things got worse!
We spent thirteen hours stranded in Atlanta airport due to cancelled flights. We finally caught a bird at about ten o-clock Eastern (we arrived at nine that morning after catching the red-eye out of San Antonio). As I said, my favorite cussword is Atlanta.
But Elyse and I have thought about it - it was WORTH IT! Not just the show but also San Antonio and all there is to do there. We had a great time, thanks again, Wayne
Had a great time at the TEXAS
show this year. I was amazed at how much more there was from the last time I
went. There was tons of stuff.
Nick and Deanna greeted everyone as they came in and as always, it was great to
see them again. My wife came with me and went to the Ladies Corner to see what
she could get there. I walked into the main room and quickly lost myself in the
world of toy soldiers.
I got to talk to Ron Barzso and his wife. Always nice to visit with them. Looked
at his new Normandy European buildings and liked what I saw and bought one. They
said that they plan on making more and even some battle damaged ones.
Saw Ed Gannon and his son. Always great to talk to Ed, and he always has some
cool stuff and I love looking through his boxes to see what I can find. I bought
some older MARX G.I.'s and Marines from him that filled some holes in my
collection.
Me and my wife got to meet Beau Cunnyngham and his wife. Real nice people. I
bought a bag of his figures from him. Even though I don't collect Civil War, I
just had to get them because they were unique poses and cool looking. I went
back Sunday and saw Beau's prototypes for his Union figures. You guys who
collect the Civil War are going to love them.
Shopped arround the different dealers who had loose figure bins and bought some
here and there. Hobby Bunker had all kinds of cool stuff. Also there were a few
dealers who had some old MARX playsets. If only I had had more of the green
stuff.
Saw the Paragon Cavalry and Apaches as well as the prototypes of the next sets.
They are cool looking. You guys who collect the old west are so lucky.
Steve Weston's new Cattle drive is a neat looking set. Have I said that you guys
who collect the old west are lucky.
Also saw the pics of the prototypes for TSSD upcoming Dismounted Cavalry and
casualties figure set. Again have I said that you guys who collect the old west
are lucky.
Gary Dutko was there with all kinds of cool conversions. I really liked the one
of Davy Crockett on a bear.
Figarti had a big Tarawa diorama set up showing their new figure sets. It was
really neat.
My wife found me and had John Wayne in tow. So, I got to have my picture made
with the Duke. {Who said the Duke was dead.}
Got to talk with Bill McMaster. Real nice guy. He took time away from packing
his stuff up Sunday to talk with my Wife and I. Real easy to talk to.
Me and My wife wife was visiting Gary Beadel's tables Sunday. He is one of the
nicest guys you will ever meet. Got to hear him tell some interesting stories.
We could have stayed all day and listened to them. He had a Conte hedgerow set
that he gave me a great deal on and even threw in some free stuff. He even
helped me take it to my car. I found out that Gary has been to my town of
Lufkin, TX and knows some people there. Small world.
And what can be said about Nick and Deanna. Great people. I really appreciate
them going through all the work to put on the Texas show. Without it, I wouldn't
have a Toy Soldier show I could go to. I got some cool stuff from them including
a Japanese double bunker and a Conte pillbox bunker.
Me and my wife had a great time in San Antonio. We loved visiting the Buckhorn
Saloon and Texas Ranger museum. Took a carriage ride at night. Visited the
Alamo. And went to visit my Dad in San Marcos.
All in All a great vacation. I look forward to doing it again next year.
BOBBY G MOORE
Thank You both for a wonderful show, sorry that I did not say good bye but could not come back in the hotel after loading up the car.
Will do it again next year.

Hi Nick,
Congratulations on organizing a very successful show! All the hard work
you put in certainly paid off.
The show has come a long, long way from its humble beginnings. We
enjoyed ourselves and had great
success in selling (though next year I'll bring more soldiers and fewer
books.)
At the show I talked a fellow who was selling his father's collection of
old Britains. He was selling
in the room adjacent to the ballroom itself and was with his wife and
two daughters, near the table
where the re-enactors were based.
I was planning to sit down with
him
and possibly work
out a deal for a significant part of the collection, but time got away
from me at the end of the show and
I never got back to him.
Somehow I misplaced his name and
contact
info. If you can figure out who
I'm talking about, would you please send me his name and email address?
Many thanks!
All the best,
John
